The Paint Shop
The quality of workmanship used to paint your automobile will determine rust resistance, resale value and presentation at time of sale. Chesterland Autobody has invested in paint technology which insures the highest level of quality and deliverability.

Our Down
Draft Paint System
Older technology paint systems use a cross-flow pattern of airflow. State of the art technology demands a down draft system to insure cleaner application of paint to the surface of your automobile.
The paint booth is heated by a 1,500k BTU furnace fueled by natural gas at 5 lbs. pressure. By comparison, the average gas-heated home ranges between 80 and 125k BTU at 4 to 5 ounces of pressure.
The furnace blows warm air into the booth, and an extractor blows air out at a slightly lesser rate - allowing for what is referred to as positive pressure. There is a slightly higher pressure in the booth than outside of it. This insures that a door opening blows particles away from items being painted, helping to provide a cleaner paint surface.

Spraying takes place at 78 to 80 degrees. The system then bakes the paint on the surface of the car at 140 to 145 degrees. This allows for:
The computerized Mixing Booth is self-contained and explosion-proof with an OSHA-standard four inch curb. Paint is measured down to the drop on a digital scale. We use Akzo Nobel (Sikkens) paint, which is original equipment on Mercedes and other high quality brands of automobiles.

Our craftsmen paint each part individually prior to re-installation on your car. All surfaces receive proper paint coverage. This reduces damage appearance, and presents your automobile to a potential buyer in factory condition.
